Jordan Window
This window is a part of a rehab in a Historic District on the Near West Side. The house was completely gutted to the studs, and about the only thing left of the original house is this stained glass window. The contractor thought he might just get rid of it since some of the background was broken, but the Landmarks Advisory Committee urged him to restore it. The background glass was matched, and the outside amber border was re-cut a bit larger so the window would have more presence. It used to be tucked back on the side of the house, but now is showcased on the porch beside the front door.
